We are pleased to announce
that OCR is now recognized by the City of Toronto for licensing purposes,
effective October 2009.
As provided for in the Municipal Act, the
City of Toronto has enacted a bylaw requiring holistic practitioners and
owners to be licenced by the City. Because our profession is unregulated
by the Ontario government, the Municipal Act allows each municipality to
licence unregulated practitioners.
To be eligible for
licensing, you must be Certified as a Reflexologist and be a
current member of OCR.
A licence is required for practitioners
providing holistic services. "Holistic services" refer to any modality
(including reflexology) used as a tool for therapeutic and wellness purposes.
A licence is also required for owners
of any premises providing holistic services. "Holistic services"
refer to any modality used as a tool for therapeutic and wellness purposes.
If you provide holistic services, you are
required
to hold both a Holistic Practitioner's Licence and a Holistic Centre
Owner's Licence.

for you to obtain your Criminal Background Check from your local police. For

- Provide your certificate and proof of current
membership from OCR,
you must obtain a letter from OCR verifying your status as a current
member - when applying/renewing, please send an email to OCR requesting a
letter before you submit your application

- Pay the prescribed application fee of $327.37 (renewal
fee is $203.82)
